Filippi’s is an old Escondido standby for pizza and Italian food. This is the type of Italian restaurant with checkered tablecloths and Cianti bottles hanging in the overhead. The service is prompt, except during rush hours. Try anything with confidence. The portions are generous and many people leave with take home bags. Call in take out available. Moderately clean for a busy restraunt. Children leave happy.
All the fixings on a chewy crust. Serves about four. Reheats well the next day.
Including fresh Italian bread and salad. The sauce seemed undercooked but others might disagree. You get one meatball but it is the size of a tennis ball. I think I can do better but what a lot of work.
