Given the solid crowd we encountered, Flipper’s seems to be the kind of brunch diner that every good neighborhood needs, providing hearty, no-nonsense food accompanied by (unfortunately) no-nonsense service. We were seated quickly, but afterwards the service was slow, especially on the coffee refills required to chase away those hangovers. All in all, this place is perfect for a morning brunch on a sunny day – I’d definitely come back.

This is my favorite brunch place in SF, mainly because it’s 2 blocks from my place. Luckily, the food is good and it’s got a fun atmosphere. I seem to always end up here after a night of hard drinking, and it’s big breakfast plates are perfect for the morning after. The outdoor seating is also great on a sunny day. Additionally, it rarely takes more than a few minutes to get a table, which is something that can’t be said for most other brunch spots in the city.

As for dinner, the food is also good, albeit a little overpriced ($9 for a pretty plain burger?!)

I CAME HERE WITH WITH MY WIFE AND IN-LAWS AND ENJOYED A GREAT MEAL .. I HAD A FETTUCCINI ALFREDO $9.00 AND ADDED JUMBO PRAWNS $6.00 HAD A LARGE SALAD BREAD INCLUDED IN THE ABOVE MEAL , AND A COLD DRAFT HEFFIERVISEN WHEAT BEER ON DRAFT $4.00 MY MEAL WAS GREAT . THE BUISNESS LOOKS PLAIN ON THE OUTSIDE BUT HAS GREAT FOOD CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY AND HAD CHICKEN FAHITAS DRAFT BEER AND A LARGE SALAD WITH FRESH WARM BREAD FULL COULDNT EAT ALL OF IT.. MY WIFE ORDERED THE MEAT LOAF AND ENDED UP TAKING HOME@ HALF NICE LARGE PROPORTIONS
