Frankie’s has been my FAVORITE restaurant for as long as I can remember! It has a lot of “safe” Italian food that will please the whole family.
I love their four-cheese pizza (it used to be a regular on the menu, but now I have to specially order it), which includes gorgonzola, provalone, mozzarella, and fresh parmesean—it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had. Their crust is so soft and fresh, and you can taste the wine in the marinara sauce.
Their foccacia is to die for! I love the plain foccacia that comes with basil and fresh garlic on top, with olive oil and vinegar for dipping. This is much tastier a little lower-carb than their breadsticks, which are big on bread and little on toppings/seasonings.
Another guilty favorite is the cheese calazone. The best calazone I’ve ever had! If you really want to be evil, you can replace the marinara dipping sauce with their fresh alfredo sauce (very creamy, very garlicy) at a small premium. It’s to die for.
The only downside is that the restaurant is very small and seems to attract families with kids. Good if you have kids, bad if you are looking for a romantic date. Definitely not recommended for a romantic date on a Friday or Saturday night. It also calls for a very long wait at peak hours.
The staff is friendly and they have very low turnover, so you know they treat their employees well! The restaurant has been owned by Frankie himself, who is known to walk around and ask how everyone’s food is, and is operated by Frankie’s son.
A great, friendly neighborhood Italian restaurant!
