4.0I stopped in for lunch yesterday, the day after Super Bowl, to be expected the city would be pretty quiet recuperating from the big NY win!!
With that being said surprisingly G50 had more than half their restaurant full and with 4 other restaurants around them and an atrium next door, I saw this as a good sign. My second time here and once again I was greeted and sat with my choice on their slight upper level.
The decor is industrial meets chic. Bistro meets wine bar. Actually on the second floor there is a massive glass case of hundreds of wines, beautiful. This time I noticed that there was even a DJ area so I was curious and asked the server about it, she said they offer after hour parties and if a party is held they have the equipment for a DJ. (Good to know!)
My server mentioned the lunch special and I immediately went for it, though their menu had plenty of choices I like the deal offered, Hero sandwich, salad and my choice of wine or draft beer for $20. So I had a meatball hero and Six Point Sweet Action and of course fell into coma. But it was just what I need the day after all the festivities. The meatballs were delicious, not dry and full of flavor, and the hero bread was toasted just right and kept itself together. Every bite, I really hate when my sandwich bread falls apart.
All in all, the staff was friendly, my food was yummy and being a huge music fan I liked the mix of Depeche Mode andThe Cure, not the typical music to hear in midtown east.
Check them out!
