Only been here for Thursday half price wings. I’m asian so what do you expect? Hot wings can get pretty hot if you’re chomping them right out of the deep fryer. If you’re eating BBQ, you’ve gotta eat them while they’re still crispy after being doused in the sauce, otherwise you get a sort of soggy bread coating on the wings. The place is small, noisy, and I don’t think they have any HDTVs in there. Can get crowded on game nights.

local pub- half off wings on thurs. extra large fried wings (mild, medium, hot), several tvs playing the game, and cheap pool table. noisy, semi dirty, nice but small outdoor seating. waitresses are nice. plenty of parking. bar patrons are usually local.

A shameless dive, gritty and alive, breathing televised sports and loud conversation and cheap cigarettes. But on Thursdays, George’s Place boasts half-price wings; thirty for under ten dollars.

However, for under ten dollars, George—or whichever personable waitress happens your way—won’t ever serve boilerplate wings. Avoid the phony “teriyaki” flavor, and you’ll develop affection for George’s rich and well-seasoned, deviant wings.

Order George’s “Wet Pepper” wings, and your gustatory experience will transcend the smokey, poorly-lit shack. You’ll overlook the lack of atmosphere, the ambient lighting, the slow service, the obligatory inebriated male twentysomethings vocally assaulting sports teams or actors or the arcade video games in the back of the dining hall, or whatever else inebriated male tentysomethings enjoy mocking. Instead, your lips will bask crimson from each wing you consume, oblivious to the inadequacies of your surroundings.

Orgasmic wet pepper wings aside, don’t bring a date. Unless, naturally, your date enjoys cigarette smoke. And shouting. And smearing vibrant, orange grease over his or her face.

Sure, George’s Place serves other food. As a Dive, George’s Place serves beer. Lots of it. But you don’t go to George’s Place on half-price wing Thursdays for anything but. After all, there are cleaner, clearer environments for bar food.

But no where else for equally palatable wet pepper wings.

It says Half Time, but they definitely mean George’s Place. The BEST wings in town, hands down. Beats BW3’s (or BWW’s, for those who can’t remember back when it was Buffalo West Wild Wings) in all categories except on witty quotes on napkins. Thursday’s half-priced wing deal is the best.

The air is crappy and smokey, and there’s usually drunk people playing duck hunt or buck shot or whatever that game is. You get 0 reception, not that it matters; it’s too loud in there to pay attention to the games that are on TV, let alone answer your cell phone. All this must be excused since it is a bar, and the prices are undeniably cheap (at least the price for wings on Thursdays) because the overpriced beer offsets the reasonably priced food.

So it is small and stuffy and noisy, but the wings here cover a multitude of sings. They’re are normal-chicken sized, unlike at BWW’s where the wings look like they were butchered off of emaciated and underaged chicks. The Wet-Pepper Marinated Wings are gloriously greasy and oh so delicious and they turn your fingers a beautiful orange color. A lot of people also like BBQ or Teriyaki, but they’re not for me. Mild and hot wings are both better than medium.

There’s an unenforced no-18-and-unders-sans-legal-guardian-after-8-pm policy that I break every Thursday. Friendly staff and really helpful waitresses, although the food sometimes takes a while.
