George's is a comfy, neighborhood friendly tavern right in the middle of the Virgina Highlands. George's has been family owned and operated since 1961 and has become a Highlands' institution. George's plays host to numerous neighborhood functions, such as the weekly running group that meets here every Wednesday evening. Come watch your favorite sporting event on of our TVS and enjoy one of our famous hand pattied burgers made from 100% ground chuck beef and char-broiled to perfection. Best burgers!

George’s, located in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta, has been owned by the Najour family since 1961. In a traditional bar and grill setting with neon beer signs and family memorabilia, tables are filled with residents and tourists alike. The food is good, consistent and reasonably-priced and the beer is always cold!

Bleu Cheese Burger

Added bacon for $.75. Wicked juicy with plenty of cheese and crispy bacon. Yum!

4.0 star rating

Lean corned beef with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing on rye finished on the grill. Great comfort food! A little messy to eat.

My favorite is the Mexican burger with a black bean patty! Second is the chili! Yums! Been going here for 7 years and two kids later. Hole in the wall gem of the Highlands!
