At a friends suggestion we went to Granitos for dinner. Definitely happy that we made reservations because the place was packed! We were promptly greeted and seated at a large booth adjacent to the kitchen with bread and roasted garlic. The Chef leaned over from the kitchen and immediately began suggesting appetizers and wine… We order the bruschetta and fried ravioli – the Chef suggested Nachos. Although we thought he was kidding a few minutes later a large bowl of what looked like nachos appeared at our table, it was delicious; a meat marinara with fresh basil topped with mozzarella all atop deep fried lasagna noodles cut to resemble chips. Excellent wine, great appetizers, because of the large portions we ordered way too much. The entrées arrive hot, very hot; both filet mignon were perfectly cooked to order, the shrimp was tender; the Chicken Marsala was tender and lightly fried; the Veal Scalppini was cooked perfectly, the garlic mashed potatoes were flavorful and the medley of summer vegetables perfect. Each entrée was cooked flawlessly however we felt they didn’t need the heavy cream and butter sauces as they over powered the fine cuts of meat. We finished the meal with tiramisu and coffee. Although a little pricey, we’ll try it again.
Crisp, fresh tomato, basil, garlic. Delicious
Very nice suggestion, fresh full of flavor.
the veal was cooked perfectly, tender moist. The sauce was very rich and over powered the delicate cut of meat
