This is without a doubt my most favorite restaurant in Marin.
After not having been there for a few weeks due to so much summer activity I decided to try the $3.95 breakfast that was excellent 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and 2 pancakes. Though the wait person could have had an attitude due to the low priced breakfast…. she was gracious and welcoming even with a sizable crowd.
I then decided I had to go for dinner ASAP and ended up going that same evening.
Quality of the ingredients, assembly, preparation and and presentation are second to none. The only other Italian restaurant that even comes close is Poggio in Sausalito at twice the price. The servings are also reasonable, not your feed the world proportions, although large enough they can be split. That evening I had the best Burrata cheese on Crostini with diced tomato and just the right amount of garlic. The other dish for the evening was the spinach and chicken salad. Suffice to say another home run with a spectacular balsamic dressing and bits of bacon. Their wine list is very thorough and there are many excellent values.
The servers are all top notch and friendly and willing to provide guidance on both food and wine.
Almost forgot the Affogato (Vanilla gelato with a shot of espresso and topped with whipped cream) is to die for.
Some of the reviews on Yelp are from Jan 2008-Jan 2011 when the business was run by the previous owner who was not as adept as the founders. One of the founders took ownership back in June 2011 and is the reason it has once again become a 1st class restaurant.
