4.0I got the 7 courses of beef. Portion-wise was small, but overall quite tasty. The flavor was slightly different for the salad compared to other places I’ve tried, but it wasn’t bad. The pineapple sauce was not as thick as I like. They could have provided more rice paper. The steamed meat had great flavor here which I’m usually not a fan since it typically lacks flavor. Definitely could have given more rice soup at the end. Also, ordered spring rolls which came out all fancy looking and there were 4 of them which is great for the price. Place is small so there can be a wait. Service was great. Overall, would definitely go back again.

4.0Great little spot that’s tucked amongst a bunch of other random little restaurants in Chinatown. Green Leaf feels homey and offers a pretty nice variety of dishes – not just your standard pho and noodle bowls.
The wait staff was nice – we ordered a whole bunch of stuff for lunch and one of my dishes took quite awhile but I don’t think this is a regular pattern…everything else came quickly and they were friendly and attentive.
I would probably pick Tamarind Tree over this place still but if you need an alternative when that place is too crowded or want a smaller place then this should definetely be on your list.
Delicious tender chicken – could have used more spice but it was still very good.

5.0If you have never eaten Vietnamese Food, don’t settle for less. This place is Awesome. Good positive atmosphere, friendly staff, not as long of a wait as it may look; so wait!! You won’t be sorry. The food is flavorful and fresh Great prices too. No heartburn here. Egg rolls are a must for trying and have some of their iced coffee too.
Only thing you should know is that you and your neighbor sit extremely close. So what? Step outside of your comfort zone, you’ll enjoy it.

4.0Yet another great recommendation by Shezagat, Green Leaf is excellent vietnamese. The lemongrass eggplant was as good as billed, as was the herbs and greens accompanying a classic, delicious vermicelli bowl. I have yet to try the pho, but I’m sure it is excellent.

5.0Green leaf is always packed, has consistently good service, and outstanding food. One of the best places in the international district.
(But avoid the chef’s specials. They cost extra and are nothing special.)
Absolutely excellent. By far the best Vegetarian dish on the menu.

05/06/2008last time i went my co-worker had a hair in his la-lot beef rolls. it was pretty gross, a really long hair too. i’m going to discount this assuming i never experience this again here…i still think their food is worth it. you just have to put up with some stuff at asian restaurants…you also thought they would have been a little apologetic thought they did take it off the bill!
