Good New York Pizza

This is a pretty good pizza joint when it comes to NY style pizza. Is it the best? Depends on your preference for pizza styles. This is a thin crust, gourmet type of pizza. Very good crust and excellent selection in quality and variety of toppings. Nice destination point should you ever choose to leave the confines of Manhattan and walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s conveniently located at the foot of the bridge and makes for a great meal after such a journey.

Best Pizza in New York!

This place has the best thin crust brick oven pizza I’ve ever had. It’s worth the short trip to Brooklyn from Manhattan. The waiting in line is a bummer, but you have to try their pizza at least once! I love the fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese topping. Delicious! After being stuffed with pizza, I love to walk down towards the river and enjoy a beautiful view of Manhattan, even when it’s 0 degrees outside.

Love it!

After walking across the Brooklyn Bridge (and running into The Way of the Cross with 3,000 people), we jumped in line to try the pizza at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria who has a coal-fired brick oven. Once again you can not order pizza by the slice but it is well worth the pie. Their pizzas are made with fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, and dough made daily. The coal brick oven gives the crust a crispiness and smokiness. I couldn’t’ pick between here or John’s- I loved them both equally. One this that made Grimaldi’s a tiny bit better was the whole basil leaves they cook on top! As soon as you took a bite the basil flooded your mouth- Yummmmm

Good NY Pizza

This small cozy and popular pizza parlor is located just southwest of the Brooklyn Bridge. The line out the door can be intimidating, so it helps to have someone stand in line for you while you are late. We were seated after a 30 minute wait in the small packed dining room. Tables were close packed, but our neighbors were cheerful and well behaved. The service was good, and food arrived promptly, I’d have to say it was tasty pizza, but the toppings weren’t as generous as I would have liked, and the pizza wasn’t that hot when it got to our table. Otherwise the pizza was seasoned well and the fresh mozzarella cheese gave it a fresh flavor. Despite the crowds, we were not rushed out of the restaurant; a European style sorely lacking in many American restaurant.

Dishes I tried:

We got a large pizza with sausage, anchovies, and mushrooms. It was well seasoned and flavorful, but could have been hotter when served.

perfect pizza pie

the pizza here is so good, totally made 5hr plane ride worth it.

different from other ny pizza, in that they don’t sell by the slice, but that’s not a problem cuz you’ll end up eating the whole pie anyways!

the bottom is nice and crunchy, while the cheese was warm and gooey… and let’s not forget about their crust. (and i usually never eat my crust)

visitors, this is a must for ny style pizza!

The BEST brick oven pizza with the thinnest crust and yummy toppings. The only stinky part is waiting outside to get in. Get there early. Take home leftovers.

Great brick-over thin crust pizza. Lines can be long but they move pretty quick. I grew up on John’s, but at this point I’d say it’s a toss up. Both are really good.

seriously, the pizza is so freakin gooood. i went during the day when it wasn’t crowded at all, but i think i’m going to try the garden city location in long island.

pizza isn’t your typical slice. first, you can’t order by the slice anyway and the brooklyn location only takes cash. the pizza has real mozzarella cheese on it. yum yum.
