I wasn’t sure if I should rate this place 4 or five stars. This restuarant has great Italian food, but the important aspect of this place is its location. It is in an excellent location for Berkeley students to grab Italian food without having to go to some fancy Italian restuarant. The prices are great for the type of food you get, and for the amount you get. There is usually a sizeable line, and tables may be scarce at times, but that shouldn’t dissuade people from going to this place. There aren’t that many places in Berkeley for quick Italian food, so I recommend this place highly. Their calzones are also a ridiculous size for the price in my opinion. So get that if you like calzones!

if you want quick, tasty, cheap italian – gypsy’s is the place to get it in berkeley. it’s no fine dining, but it sure can hit the spot when you’re hungry.
garlicky goodness. if you’re not a fan of the tomato / creamy sauces, chicken marsala is a good choice. it is SUPER garlicky though, so beware of some post-stinky breath.
HUGE & tasty calzone. mine wasn’t cooked long enough, so some of the middle was cold.
