Great food at the heart of Portland
I should start by saying I’ve been to Henry’s 5 or so times before. Not once was I disappointed with the food. The Service is hit or miss, like most places. You should also know I’ve only been there for dinner. So as far as the ambience, DARK is the first thing that comes to mind. However, the lighting gives the place a modern/romantic/Industrial setting. Industrial? Yes, the building used to either house a Brewery or a Power Station, I forget which. We sat where you can overlook the kitchen as it is completely opened for patrons to view. The place is huge, it can sit diners in a large bar/lounge area, dining room up/downstairs. The also have an area for billards. Be sure to checkout a great Portland dining experience, from the same people who brought us Portland City Grill. The restaurant offer an expansive menu from Burgers, Pizza, and Pasta, to several Steaks, Fish, Salads, and Sandwiches. The menu does not disappoint from options.
Dishes I tried:
CrabCakes Appetizer
I wish there were more crabcakes to enjoy! Nice and soft with plenty of crab:cornmeal ratio. ;) The two of them were perfectly browned on both sides and delicious with the mustard sauce pairing. Enough for 2 and lot as you want a nice sampling.
House Salad
The cornmeal croutons were delightful! The mixed greens were very fresh and cherry tomatoes and feta were spot on delicious. Just the right amount of dressing.
Tilapria Special
Very moist. Excellent Blur Blanc sauce. We substituted the Mashed Potatoes for Coucous, a very wise choice. The fresh veggies with Green Beans and Peppers. Overall a perfect light meal to split with a date.
