Had a gift coupon for The Idle Hour, so gave it a try on Dec. 27, 2008. Fits the local watering hole category, large bar and two dining areas. Homey atmosphere, greeted and sat immediately. Served by Keri – head waitress – very personable and helpful. Great personality. Advised that website (www.theidlehour.net) is very out of date. Suggested that their myspace link is the place to go for information.
I had a crock of onion soup, very good. Also their open-faced Reuben. Large portion and very tasty. My wife had a California Cheeseburger – half came home in a box, so you can imagine the size. Prices were very reasonable, presentation nice. Took a look at the dinner menu while there and am looking forward to trying it out after the holidays.
Overall, a pleasant experience.
Just barely got through it after having Onion Soup to start.
Thick, well toasted rye bread, lots of corned beef, kraut, dressing, topped with a lot of cheese. Served with chips, pickle and slaw.
Hearty stock, lots of onions, crouton and meunster cheese. Very good.
Big burger, cooked as ordered (medium-rare), served with fries (Excellent, crispy, flavorful), slaw, pickle, lettuce, two tomato slices, red onion.

We have lived in Point for more than 10 years and never went to the Idle hour until just recently. I have to say that I was pleasantly suprised. THe people were friendly, the seating was immediate and we were well taken care of.
I had the Blackened Pork Chops topped with Blue Cheese and Roasted Red Peppers along with a side dish of Sauteed Snow Peas.
The Chops were cooked perfectly with flavor, appearance, nonimal cost, texture and portion size. I will be going there again! Thanks Idle Hour.

Every time I've gone here I've always had excellent food. Our family usually goes here for appetizers a lot of times, and we greatly enjoy the atmosphere. Reasonable prices and good service.
