Well this was a first for me – a trendy Korean restaurant. At first, I was skeptical. When you first step in, the dark and modern decor makes you think you just stepped into a very cool lounge. Seeing everyone with martini glasses strengthens that thought. But after further inspection, there are people eating some nice looking dishes :)

Many asians will probably tell you that they are skeptical of asian restaurants that don’t have asian patrons or staff – luckily, we saw a couple of each (it took us a few minutes to spot though).

The selection and prices on the menu are actually quite good for this level of trendiness. To my surprise, the dishes were good sizes and tasted good too. The service was also very good and friendly.

It really books up, so call ahead and try to make a reservation if you can. Definitely check this place out if you need a datespot for very presentable Korean food or if you want to ease someone into Korean food.

if you’re looking for a korean bbq joint w/the grills in the table or a mom ’n pop shop w/an all korean staff, then this is not the place to go.

i felt a little weirded out during my dining experience, as i’ve NEVER eaten at a trendy korean restaurant…heck, i didn’t even know they existed. but i was pleasantly surprised to find authentic tastes (w/trendy presentation) & incredibly friendly service.

ambience – feels like a cozy, cool lounge/bar, very dimly lit (i had trouble seeing my food), modern minimalistic w/kim chee storage barrel decorations. a very appropriate mood for an intimate dinner for 2.

i don’t think i’d come back here b/c i like my mom ‘n pop shops too much, but if you’re new to korean or just looking for a hip & trendy place to eat, it’s definitely worth checking out!

one caveat – eating korean can be expensive (trendy or not), so be prepared.
