deliciously irresistible!
julius meinl is a must try. an absolutely refreshing, charming, and unique place to grab a coffee or a viennese breakfast. add to that their friendly service and casual elegant interior to make this cafe/restaurant a sure crowd pleaser.
the only qualm i have is the street parking, which can be a bit elusive.
Dishes I tried:
Asparagus and Mushroom Crepes
definitely no shortage of goat cheese in this crepe, maybe even too much. but overall a satisfying breakfast dish w/a nice green salad topper.
Brie and Ham Crepes
another excellent breakfast choice for crepe lovers. a sufficient quantity of two ham & brie filled crepes.
Quiche
fluffy, almost not fully cooked, which i liked because it tasted very fresh and homemade. none of that heavy as a brick quiche here.

Just as good as the first time...
My girlfriends and I came here for brunch…and the place was already packed! We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table, but it was worth the wait.
Dishes I tried:
Smoked Salmon
Very yummy…comes with tomatoes, a huge croissant and smoked salmon (obviously =P). See picture! The croissant tasted like it just came out of the oven, the tomatoes were also very fresh and the smoked salmon was just perfect.

A Taste of Europe
I came here for Saturday brunch, arriving exactly 1 minute after it opened at 11a.m. and the place was PACKED! There was a 20 minute wait to get seated at the restaurant! Other customers, who did not want to eat there, had the option of going up to the pastry/coffee counter to order quick breakfasts. Some of them would take these quick bites and sit in the waiting area (which has about 4-5 tables with booth like seats) in the front to munch on their meals.
The ambience is fresh, clean and bright. The cafe is located at the street corner, so 2 sides of it are made up of tall and wide windows. This gives the cafe a very open, almost outdoorsy, feel. The tables were each decorated with a tiny vase full of fresh, multi-colored carnations which added to the cheery atmosphere. As busy as it was, the staff never made us feel rushed. The food was great (talk about an endless selection) and I will definitely be returning to taste the yummy looking pastries on display!
Dishes I tried:
Kasespatzle
Spatzle (which is a type of shell-like pasta) cooked with onions and cheese, sprinkled with bacon and chives. It’s pretty filling and the bacon goes really well with the dish. Maybe just a tad heavy on the cheese, which makes the dish seem heavy as a whole. Otherwise, it’s an excellent “European specialty.”
Spiced Apple Cider
I’m not a huge fan of apple cider, but this one was fabulous! It’s hot apple cider mixed with spiced chai tea to add that chai kick. I didn’t even have to add any sugar to it cuz the sweetness of the apple cider was sweet enough. Yum!
