Kaze is always a good time – great fish, interesting pairings.

The space is pretty small, though, so make sure you get a reservation – or just sit at the sushi bar.

Delicious dinner. Started with a mouthwatering sweet potato soup with lobster broth and prawn served sizzling in a ceramic dish (amazing presentation), while my friends had miso soup and udon soup, which were both beautifully balanced. Followed by a west coast oyster in ponzu sauce, which just melted in your mouth. Two special rolls including a spicy tuna roll and dragon roll (with unagi and sweet potato). Ended the meal with an Asian pear with sake reduction, green tea (so delicious!). Inventive menu and the specials were delicious. All the dishes were presented beautifully and this would be a great place for a romantic dinner or elegant dinner with friends.

very inventive menu from talented young chef. always in high demand on the weekends so make sure you reserve far in advance – try to reserve the day before and you won’t get a seating until at least 9.30p. fish is always fresh and the menu is constantly evolving, allowing for new creations. try the saba sashimi (if it’s still on the menu) and the dragon rolls. if something on the menu looks like it would be weird, TRY IT – it will not disappoint. there’s also a decent sake selection to go with your meal, and the wait staff enjoys the food as much as you do, so they usually have good ideas on what pairings will work.
