We keep odd hours, and so we typically end up at a restaurant during the post-lunch and pre-dinner lull. It’s led to some disasters in dinning. La Baguette Bistro was in one small way no exception to that rule, when we walked in no one seated us, the waiter looked right at us and then proceeded to ignore us for a good ten minutes. When a bartender overheard us grumbling, he stepped up and took our drink order.
When our waiter did take notice of us, he was an excellant server. We had no more complaints of La Baguette for the rest of our stay.

The food, wow. Exceptional French cuisine. The menu has a really good range of dishes at every price level too. from cheaper sandwiches, quiche, pasta, and salads; to main dishes of upper moderate price.
To start we had the Smoked Salmon, carpaccio style. It was served up beautifully with lemon oil, lemon zest, capers and toasted bites of baguette. For main courses, I had the Quiche Florintine, which came with nice side salad and the house dijon vinegrette; and my husband had the Beouf Fromage sandwich, an open faced affair with a side of their silky, buttery cream of asparagus soup. For dessert we both shared some Panna Cotta with a strawberry sauce and sliced strawberries. Hands down the best panna cotta I’ve ever had. But I expected nothing less from La Baguette, as they are renown as the place for desserts.

While La Baguette is not a place to go if you’re on a tight budget, I would urge to save up your food dollars and go there if you are budgeting. Plan on spending at least $50 for two people, more if it’s a special occasion. ;)

They get a 5 star rating for their bread pudding w/rum sauce, italian cream cake, and cheesecake. And not to expensive either.
