I’ve been to La Marqueza several times, and I keep going back for a reason — the enchiladas with salsa verde. Before this restaurant, I wasn’t aware of my love for salsa verde. I usually ordered the “safer” items — dishes I knew wouldn’t be too weird or spicy for me. And although enchiladas aren’t weird by any means, I was worried about the spice level. But the instant the first bite passed my lips, I was addicted. The combination of flavors was incredible — meat, cheese, sauce, spices.

Since my first time, I’ve gotten the enchiladas with salsa verde other places, but they never live up to that first time at La Marqueza.
