Smokey's Lake Wohlford Cafe... Escondido for Fun

This is a treasure… right out of Mid America in the 50’s. Buy your bait… Shoot some Pool… Listen to some great music… Look out over the lake… have a cold beer… but do not miss the food.

Food and Service are both excellent… and the experience will always be fun.

Stopped in with some buddies after a Cowboy Action Shoot at the Escondido Rod and Gun Club… wanted a really cold beer… and lunch. Hour and one half later… stuffed… we rolled out the door… grinning from ear to ear.

Mike had Ribs… said they were great… Bill had Chicken Teriyaki sandwich… said it was great… Ralph had BBQ Pork Sandwich .. said it was great… I put on a show eating five large catfish fillets with all the trimmings.

Boy did I get my monies worth :-)

Packed away five nice sized Catfish Fillets… lightly breaded… fried to perfection… great tartar sauce… juicy… moist… tasty like no other fish can be… Yee Haw

Cole Slaw was very good… Hush Puppies were tasty… I cleaned up my plate… and might have had another fillet… but was to embarrassed.
