Original and exotic dishes

I have to say that this is one of my favourites places not only because I love their original desserts and the exotic food but mostly because of it’s warm and friendly service.

The restaurant is small, the atmosphere is relaxed and the decor makes me feel on an island. It is definetly a culinary trip to Reunion Island, a nice way to escape from the cold winter days in Montreal (at least for a few hours).

Service is amazing! we never have to ask for more water , bread or butter. You can BYOW and for about $35-$38 you can have the Tasting Menu that includes an Appetizer, Main dish, Dessert and Tea or Coffee.

If you are a chocolate lover, you’ll enjoy the Piton des Neiges, a chocolate cake with a rich chocolate sauce, nothing but the best!!

I do recommend to make reservations.

Warm atmosphere and delicious exotic food

I’ve been to Le Piton de la Fournaise several times and the service and the food are always excellent. Staff are super friendly and attentive, where as the food is exotic without being too weird and always very tasty. Another good thing about this Ile de la Reunion restaurant is that its a Bring Your Own Wine place.

I recommend either the table d’hote which includes an appetizer (definitely recommend the salade de chouchoux which is very refreshing!), a main meal and dessert (try the sweet potato & rum cake) and coffee/tea at around 25-27$, or the Menu de degustation at 35-37$ including 2 appetizers, a main dish, and a more extended selection of dessert + coffee/tea. You’ll find on the menu anything from shark to sausage to sprimps to fish!

As for the decor, its colorful, warm and unpretentious…since It’s a very small restaurant, I recommend making reservation.

Dishes I tried:

Delicious, exotic and very tasty. I also recommend the Salade de Chouchoux for appetizer and the sweet potato cake for dessert!
