Little Tokyo

We’re pretty particular about where we go to get GOOD sushi and since this place came under new management and redecorated, it’s been full of minor dissappointments. The old servers, full of personality and knew us when we came in have all quit or been fired. We have visited a half dozen times since the remodel and the new servers still have no personality and lack the friendliness of your typical local sushi bar. Some of the special rolls on the board are great, but there’s something missing from some of our old favorites (the infamous “garbage roll” was a staple for us every time we went and now we don’t even bother with it). We give up.
If you’re looking for something in Poway/Scripps/CMR, check out Poway Sushi Lounge across from the library. That’s our new sushi hang out and they really deliver!

Like any other small sushi restuarant Litle Tokyo serves adequate sushi. The service is thoughtful, however I’m not impressed with the rolls. The rolls are a little to skimpy and small for the price you’re paying for.

But their lunch specialities are reasonably fair. I suggest a Sushi Combo that comes with a salad, soup, gyozo and two rolls of your choice.

A great place for a casual lunch date but not the best pick for dinner.
