5.0It’s supposed to be the oldest officially recognized pizzeria in America (Gennaro Lombardi-1905). For that reason alone it’s worth a try. We tried a few pies. The best crust was on the Margherita. The best topping was the pancetta & ricotta impastata. It is very touristy & expensive, but if you are a true pizza lover, like myself, you have to try it at least once!

4.0I went to Lombardi’s on a recommendation from a friend. She had warned me about the long lines since it’s kind of a famous pizza place in New York. Luckily the day I went there was no line and we were sat right when we got there.
The place itself has a very cool feel about it. Kind of cozy and old at the same time. It very much felt like a pizza place, although a cool one at that. And as has been mentioned already here, part of the coolness factor is that it has been recognized as the first pizza place in the U.S.
The pizza itself was good. Not great but good. Traditional ‘New York’ style with the thin crust and very good mozzarella. I have had better at some of the hole in the wall places but that in no way means the pizza was bad. It was good enough that I will go back. Just be aware of the slightly high prices.
The Pepperoni Pizza was good. The thin crust and big slices are exactly what you would expect in a NY pizza

3.0Long line; tourist trap; with that being said, this is still one of my favorite places to eat at. However, I don’t think it’s as good as it was back in the day. Plain is good, clam is good, and all-meat galore is awesome.

4.0The pizza is delicious. These guys know what they are doing… considering they’ve been around since like 1905. Brick oven… always draws in a crowd. It’s a cute place and it’s true they do not accept card… though conveniently (for them?) there is an ATM machine right n the restaurant. Pies are pretty big so definitely bring a friend or two to share with, depending on how hungry you are. lol.

4.0I love the pizza at this place. Its the first pizza shop in America, or so I learned courtesy of the Food Channel. Anyway, if you’re into floppy pizza with super fresh ingredients, Lombardi’s is the way to go. I usually order sausage and ricotta on the pizza. Its great! The mozzarella is so fresh and the tomato sauce is delish as well. Pizza is a little expensive and doesn’t sell by the slice. Be sure to bring cash with you because they do NOT take credit cards.

2.0This is supposed to be the best pizza in New York…It’s highly overrated. My family and I ordered some pizza to go from them late one night. I know the pizza crust is supposed to be thin, but it was kinda soggy. And for the money I payed for it, it was not quite as flavorful as I thought it would be. My advice: save some money and go to the pizza place down the street.

3.0We were doing a self-guided walking tour of Little Italy when we happened across Lombardi’s. Several people had pointed out that it was the standard for NYC Neapolitan pizza so we stopped in.
We ordered the standard, a Margherita pizza. It arrived and was indeed wonderful! The crust was nice and thin and the mozzarella tasted amazing. We could see why Lombardi’s has been around for so long – they really know what they’re doing with pizza.
