If you like spice, this is your place to go! You’ll be sweating bullets your entire meal!
Food: MMM, I can still feel the slow, heightened burn of the food. The table side salsa and chips were delicious and I couldn’t stop eating them. The pork was juicy and tender. The entrees were moderately priced in comparison to the portions served (portions were huge!). So, that’s a plus right there. The sangria was excellent although this may have been overpriced (I think a pitcher was $35?)
Service: On the slower side. It took forever and a day to get a waiter to bring us water and to take our drink order. I will say this though, we were one of the last tables to be seated so it might have been a bad time to go there.
Ambiance: Dim, laid back, typical Southwestern decor (Kind of like a Chevy’s but definitely lightyears ahead in terms of the quality of food). Nice place to go to if you feel like a casual meal and if you happen to be in the Union Square Area.
Will definitely be back… especially when I feel like a meal that will kick my butt. I’d give it 3.5 stars, but since I can’t, I’m rounding up. The spiciness of the food definitely kicks it up a notch and it’s hard to find a Mexican restaurant that knows how to make “hot” food.
