Ok, if its one thing I know it’s good Tex-Mex cuisine.
I have been to the usual places in Dallas and have sat at many a table and eaten my share of delicious mexican food. However I had never, until recently been to a restaurant that took all the great aspects of all the other restaurants I’d visited and incorporated it into 1 wonderful dining experience. For example, Blue Goose on Lwr Greenville has GREAT sour cream chicken enchiladas, but their beans and rice is not great, nor is their salsa. Chuy’s has amazing queso and chips but lacks in flavor on most of it’s menu items, a little too bland for me, Enchiladas has amazingly huge portions and the food is outstanding, but the services lacks desire, and I could go on and on, Uncle Julios, El Chico, etc…Now Mariano’s on Skillman has it all, the absolutely BEST of all worlds when it comes to mexican food. Superb service, huge portions, delicious salsa and queso, amazing enchiladas, and some pretty damn good margaritas. The beer is always ice cold and the food piping hot. As for as I’m concerned it’s the best mexican food restaurant in the Metroplex, maybe Texas. Go there, you won’t be disappointed!
