The prices have gone up since I started going there a decade or so ago, but the food is still good. I recommend: chupe de camarones which is a shrimp chowder; chaufe de mariscos which is some exceptional fried rice with seafood; saltado de camarones which is shrimp, tomatoes, onions, and french fries; the best ceviche in LA, always fresh and clean-tasting; and the papas a la huancaina which is cold, boiled potatoes with a mysterious, delicious yellow sauce.
To drink, always get the chicha morada, a purple, clove-y drink with ice.
