Went into this place expecting a decent NY slice but what a disappointment!!!
Ordered 2 white slices and a Silician. The tasteless white slices had crusts as thin as an undercooked matzo, plus the cheese was rubbery. Reminded me of a frozen cheese pita/pizza from California Pizza Kitchen.
The Silician was sagging in the middle and had a minimium amount of sauce (the inconsistent crust was more like the midwestern slop, called “Deep Dish”). Did not try their calzone and stromboli.
Besides the food, the arrangment of the place was odd for a pizzera. Apparently, it is a no-no to walk up to counter to order food. Also, they lacked the usual condiments (like garlic powder and oregano), which is sad for a place claiming to be Brooklyn/NYC style pizzeria.
Combined with all the cheezy NY/NJ Memorabilia, the place is like a midwest gapper trap in the I-70 corridor leading towards Junk-Show County.
Kinda funny that during youth in the NY metro area, most of the local pizzerias were owned operated by both Italians and Mexicans. So in this case, I guess that being Italian and from Brooklyn does not automatically mean your pizza is good.
Finally, this place deserves 2 stars because it is edible when compared to BlackJack, Dominos, Papa Johns, Uno’s, & Pizza Hut.
