This place and China Hut are the only two reasons I miss working in Brentwood. It is affiliated with the restaurant of the same name downtown on 21st, but it’s a little different. Downtown has more of a formal atmosphere more appropriate for dinner, whereas this one is more of a typical “lunch counter in an office park” type of place. But that said, I think the food is better at this one.

My standard is the vegetarian sampler — excellent rice & lentils, which they’ll cook up with grilled onions & bell peppers if you ask, served along with tasty falafel, hummus & pita, and hands-down the best tabouli I’ve ever had. Most places make their tabouli more “wet” than I like it; theirs is light & fluffy and bursting with the natural flavors of the parsley.
