Located in the a small yet diverse neighborhood of Northside, Melt is a delightful change of pace for those seeking more from their plates. The atmosphere is artistic and bohemian where local artists works are often found displayed on the walls for sale, or merely to admire while dining. The mismatched tables and chairs give the air of decorating your first apartment with found odds and ends. Even their menu is bright and quirky. Boasting a multitude of vegan/vegitarian options along side traditional deli favorites, Melt inspires patrons to try something outside-the-box. The cooler is filled with health-conscious sodas and juices that pair perfectly with any menu meal and much of their ingredients are locally sourced. With all this hip, healthy fare, here is one eclectic deli that will make your heart melt.

I really love this restaurant. I wish I lived closer to it so I could go there more often. I haven’t tried everything on the menu because the things I have tried were so good that I can’t stop ordering them. This place is great for vegetarians in general and really great for mixed company because they serve meat as well. You can sub out any protein. They have tempeh, baked tofu, and seitan for vegetarians.

They have a great option of ordering halfsies… which is half a sammie and half a salad. And their salads are awesome.

You walk up to the counter to order and pay and they give you a little sign to put on your table so they can find you when your food is ready. They don’t really come back to check on you or anything. I have had some come back to check on us but I wouldn’t count on it.

The service is okay. The people are friendly. The restaurant is a little bit cramped. But now that winter is gone, I am looking forward to sitting on the patio. It is very cute. But they have a serious mosquito problem in the summer. So much so that the staff brought out bug spray for us with our meal.
