Decent BBQ
Merle’s is suppose to be an Evanston institution. It’s a decent place for BBQ but I found the meat a little dry. I think they are better known for their rubs but I typically like mine with bbq sauce. The service was very good and the prices very reasonable but the food could definitely be better.
Dishes I tried:
Slow Smoked Combo
It was a little dry so I had to slather on the bbq sauce myself. But this is a lot of food for a decent price.
BBQ Sampler
A lot of meat but yet again a little dry.
