Overly Complex Flavoring
Un-memorable dining after high expectations.
Exotic ingredients, rich flavors, good service. Overwhelmed by overly complex flavorings.

Beautiful, fresh ingredients were overwhelmed by overly complex flavorings.
More sensitive recipes could catapult to 4 star.
Compare with Greens (4-star), where the fare is simpler (and maybe less healthy, with more dairy fat) but the fresh ingredients reign supreme.
Or, compare to Roxanne’s (RIP) (5-star) where amazingly complex, faux-food preparations achieve(d) a rich, memorable flavor experience while letting the freshest raw ingredients continue to shine through.
