Monterey Bay Canners is new to me so I asked for a recommendation from the waitress, she was very helpful and made several recommendations. The first was a white fish covered in nuts (almonds?) I can’t remember the name of the dish but it was delicious. The salad came with baby shrimp on it and it was very good too. I also liked the bread. I think it was sourdough. We had to ask for another basket because we ate so much.

My wife had a steak, which she ordered medium, but it came well done. She was less pleased with the restaurant then I was.

Eat outside or ask for a view of the water, that’s what makes this restaurant really worth the trip. We could watch the boats coming in for the evening with the sun setting behind them. Very pleasant.

I started off by being seated by a pleasant hostess. A waitress was promtly at our side taking our drink order which i like right away. After about a minute or two our beverage was there and we were offered suggestions on appitizers, the crab and artichoke dip and the calamari were the waitresses two favorites so we chose the crab and artichoke dip to start off with and let me tell you it is to die for!!! We asked the waitress for suggestions on the menu and she gave us a full run down of the menu which was nice and very informative there was a fresh fish list and a fresh frozen list. I ordered one of the suggestions the waitress made which was sesami seard ahi(delicious!!!!) really melts in your mouth but got a bowl of clam chowder to start off with the whole experience at monteray was amazing the view was incredible and the service was impecible…thank you monteray for such great service i will be back time and again

The restaurant is well located on the quieter side of the harbor with plenty of outside seating.
We all found our fish, (halibut, salmon and swordfish), to be fresh and cooked to perfection. The vegetables, (not the potatos), could have done with a few more minutes of cooking.
If you are a fish lover you will enjoy eating at Monterey Canners.
