I love this place, especially in the summer when you can sit outdoors underneath their real grape vines. If you go late in the summer, the aroma coming from the plump juicy grapes is to die for. As for the food, almost everything on the special menu is worth trying. My favorite item is actually the “popovers” that they include in the bread basket. They’re so eggy and slightly sweet it’s almost like eating an egg custard tart. Make sure you go early because there’s almost always a line.
p.s. During the winter, the atmosphere is entirely different (you go through the dining room down the steps into their boiler room to wait for a table; reminds me a bit of something from Anne Frank’s Diary) but still worth it.

We went there for Sunday brunch – at about 3 in the afternoon. It was the only time they didn’t have a line halfway down the block. I have to say, this is one of those restaurants where I heard it was good, but didn’t expect much. It’s actually good! At least, the food is. The service was pretty inattentive. Our waitress wasn’t rude, she just didn’t notice that we were even in her section until we flagged her down. We really couldn’t go wrong with the menu – the breakfast choices all looked great. I got a belgian waffle with fruit and my husband got french toast made with sweet bread. The hot cereal, fruit, toast, pastry/popover, linguica, ham, orange juice, and unlimited coffee were all fine as well. We enjoyed this all on a perfect summer day under their grape arbor. Overall, it was a good experience.
