My girlfriend and I have decided to make Niwano Hana our Valentine’s Day tradition. The food is very tasty compared to other local venues, and the price is very fair for the quantity and quality of food received! Service is quite attentive but seating can be a bit tight at times.
Appetizers were finished promptly, and the main course came out perfectly on time. The only downside to this restaurant is that it’s only open until 10:00P.
Better than the last time we had it. Two skewers of teriyaki grilled chicken and onions. Good way to start off your meal
There really is no such things as good or bad edamame. Bottom line is they give you a sizeable bowl of edamame for $4. A good way to pass the time until your entree comes!
My old favorite was the Dragon Maki or Dart Maki. I think the Bamboo Roll just took it’s place. With Eel, Avocado, and Cucumber, it’s a healthy and delicious combination. A big chunk of avocado covers the outside to make it look like bamboo, and really enhances the flavor. Definitely try it!

Upon entering this unprepossessing storefront you will be greeted by a friendly host, and probably also by the sushi chef, if he’s not intent on filling an order. You will be led to a relatively small table and the waitress will apologize for shortcomings of which you will not be aware. The menu is comprehensive without being excessive. The sushi and sushi rolls are notably fresh, and the rolls intriguingly constructed. My favorite dishes are the Sashimi Assortment, which consists of 12 exquisite pieces of Sashimi, and the Seafood Udon, which appears to be essentially Yosenabe – udon noodles, shrimp, squid, mussels, sea scallops and broth, served with an extremely spicy jar of hot peppers. I love it. You will be effusively thanked for coming and invited to return.
