Nozomi is a Japanese fusion restaurant, which funnily enough, is fused with a Thai bistro restaurant. Nozomi has a really nice, calm atmosphere and on the bottom floor there is a pool with turtles in it!!! All the workers wearing santa hats was also a very classy move.

They have some pretty crazy dishes here. They have some Japanese take on pot roast and some of the sushi had some interesting fusions. They also have some fusion teas, which I didn’t have, but they are probably worth checking out.

I ordered the unagi bonsai, which came with 6 huge pieces of sushi. I don’t remember what was in it exactly besides the unagi, but I thought it was quite delicious. I also got a roll called the “Dream”. It was warm, and had some sort of Japanese mayo on top, which added a punch to the sushi. I think I personally liked the unagi bonsai a little bit more. I also tried the Godzilla and the King Kong. All I remember was the Godzilla was tasty, while King Kong was kind of weird. Dinosaurs were always better than monkeys anyways.

Nozomi is a place to check out if you want a fresh take on Japanese food and if you have some disposable income at hand. The service was excellent and it has a pleasant atmosphere.

somewhat tucked away right off the 5 freeway, this japanese fusion restaurant offered a nice variety of your standard rolls as well as their ‘specialty’, fun rolls (in addition to other fusion dishes, which i didn’t pay too much attention to). i came here w/my family for a friday night dinner, and had an overall great time. the service was friendly and accommodating, the ambiance relaxed, but still flashy enough to make it comfortable and/or intimate. it’s a 3-story building w/a theme for each floor— don’t forget to check out turtle pond on the 1st floor!
