I decided to try Ocean Avenue again after years of not touching any of the chain restaurants on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica.
My first experience at this venue was perhaps about 7 years ago and it was only because a vendor had treated us after a film market in that area.
I didn’t particularly care for it at that time, I really cannot remember what I ate, so ya it was unforgettable.
HOWEVER, the other night I came here to sample their Happy Hour specials. Our hostess for the evening was able to extend the happy hour prices throughout our event and wow, I was surprised at both the prices and the taste!
The oysters were about $1.75 for the standard oysters and the Virginica was probably about $2 each. What grabbed my attention was the prices of the other items offered under the" happy hour" hour.
Service was attentive as there were 20 of us occupying the bar section and we were able to ask for separate receipts. I really like that they were so accommodable and try to please the patrons. In this faltering economy, diners especially me, really appreciate the extra mile service to go with the hefty bill.
My portion of the meal that night with a glass of beer, was under $24 and I was quite full and satisfied. By the way, I spilled my first glass of beer after one sip and the server replaced it at no charge.
Limitless supply of fresh bread are offered.
