it’s just fruit on sweet rice, but it sure is delicious! sweet, but not overindulging, and refreshing.

says ‘stuffed’, but don’t be fooled. 2 ginormous pancakes w/the bottom pancake cut out in the center like a donut, filled w/homemade jelly, then covered by the 2nd pancake. this dish would be no different if i spread jelly on my pancakes. disappointing.

2 ridiculously big cinnamon raisin pancakes, topped w/white glaze + powdered sugar. a little too sweet for me.

Fresh & Fun!

This place was packed for brunch (and even more so since it happened to be Mother’s Day), but surprisingly, the wait was only 25 minutes for the two of us. We walked in and just soaked up the fun, bright atmosphere inside and were impressed with the menu selection—everything looked so temptingly good! Just a fun fun place with really fresh and innovative food… we’re already plotting for our return trip in the near future!

Very distinct flavor—rich and creamy, but the eggs were a bit overcooked.

This was the ultimate dish to top of an amazing meal: fresh strawberries, pineapple and mangoes with thick French toast wedges—awesome!

Green Eggs & Ham, I do like them Sam I am

Orange is exactly the bright and refreshing pick-me-up you need in the morning. The decor is, of course, orange. The smell of fresh fruits permeates the restaurants from the fresh juices they make. At the table there are little sheets of paper where you can make pretty much any combination of fruit juice you want, but we usually stick the the fresh OJ. They take the orange-motif so far that you can even get orange coffee!

The breakfast items are creative and tasty. The egg dishes come with a home/mashed potato side that’s super tasty. Each week there’s also a different pancake flight where you get 4 stacks of small pancakes with different flavors. When we went it was the Apple theme, but I’ve seen one theme that was “Chicago Neighborhoods” which has pancakes that represented 4 different areas of Chicago. If you’re into pancakes, you gotta try the flights.

If you can, you should also try the daily frushi. It’s a sweet concoction of fruit on sweet rice and it’s a great starter. They tend to run out closer to lunch so go early if you really want it.

The last thing to note about Orange is the wait. From my experience, both Orange locations have long waits, but at least the one on Harrison is a bit bigger. If you go early on the weekend (we went around 10) then the wait isn’t too bad (~15 min) but if you go later you can expect to stand outside and wait much longer. If it’s late, we usually end up just going to Bongo Room down on Roosevelt/Wabash instead.

It’s the pesto that makes it green and it’s just enough to give it some flavor without overwhelming the eggs. A nice wallop of cheese on top finishes off the great combination.

It’s a little strange, but it’s not bad. There’s a little twist of orange sort of like orange chocolate.

Apples and Oranges... Unite!

The apples and oranges analogy (the analogy where they don’t compare at all) does not apply here at all. This place takes orange, and fruit to a new level. Their atmosphere is orange everywhere, complete with orange trees, giant orange signs, and well you get the point. The main point is that their dishes and drinks have a strong inclination towards fruitiness. You can order drinks with whatever fruit you want and however you would like to combo em (I got Mango, Peach, Pineapple. I may be remembering wrong though.)

The specialty of this place is Frushi, an eclectice combination of sweet rice and fruit (in sushi form). There are all types of frushi they offer, so just get whatever special they have for the day; you’ll be pleased (unless your just HATE fruit). The entrees were delicious. If you like French toast, then the Chai Tea French Toast is the way to go. It’s unique, in a bowl, and just wonderful.

So if you can never decide on apples or oranges, well pick Orange, because it has both! … but really likes orange.

4 large pieces of french toast stuffed with ricotta cheese sitting in a chai-infused sauce and yummy caramelized apples. Odd to eat out of a bowl, but very good.

contemporary breakfast!

Orange truly is contemporary breakfast. They seem to have many novel menu items such as fruishis and chai tea french toast! They definitely take the orange theme to the max. Most of the restaurant is orange, and they have like orange cushions and orange trees. I thought it was pretty crazy how you could buy some of the art on the walls.

One of the cool things you can do is mix juices with whatever juice they have available. It is up to you to find the best mix, but it’s neat how you can do whatever combo you want with as many fruits as you want. We had to try the fruishi, which ended up being very refreshing and tasty. One of them had pineapple on top of the rice, and I can’t remember the other fruishi, but it was even better than the pineapple one. The rice is delectable. I got their special breakfast burrito, which has lots of different stuff to complement the egg. It was very delicious, though I do wish it was bigger (even though it was pretty large). It also came with salad, though I would prefer potatoes.

This is a nice breakfast place to go to, with different types of breakfast for you to try. I personally liked some of the other breakfast places nearby more (Yolk), but it’s still a great choice. The food seems very refreshing, which is a good way to start your day!

This was a special, and not on the official menu. A great burrito, with lots of differents goodies to enhance the flavor. Salad is good for you and all, but I’d prefer something like potatoes.

Great Breakfast Spot

I went there last weekend and had the freshest OJ in my life. The rest of breakfast was good too…the omlettes are big and fluffy and have the right combo of fillings. This is a hip, fun place that I would go to every weekend if possible.
