3.0One of Mario Batali’s New York restaurants. It is affordable, but the only thing worth getting is the dessert…homemade, innovative gelattos on brioche, cakes, the works! and they have an impressive wine selection. But ultimately, this place gets 3 stars because it’s namesake—pizza—is actually pretty bad. Same goes for the appetizers, though some are actually good.

3.0Otto was suggested by friend for its kid friendly, lively atmosphere, and good food. Yes, yes, and no. I probably wouldn’t go here again, the food was so-so. First ordered prosciutto, roasted red peppers and capers, and cheeses – felt that everything was average. We ordered Arugula prosciutto pizza and calamari in basil pesto, again, average. I wasn’t impressed by the pizza sauce (personally I’m not a fan of sweeter sauces); as a whole, I’ve had better pizza for less in NYC, but was able to taste the different flavors of pizza: prosciutto, cheeses, and arugula thoroughly. And desserts (gelato) were nothing to write home about. I’m still going to give Babbo a try!
We got a couple different types of pizza: prosciutto/arugula (the best by far, arugula was nice and fresh and sauce didn’t overpower the delicate meat), one with an egg cooking on top (it tasted like breakfast…so odd), pepperoni (didn’t bother to try this one, looked greasy), white sauce w/ mushrooms (pretty good but nothing special). This place is thin-crust style and I was pleasantly surprised and how non-soggy the middle of the pizzas were. Otherwise the crust was a tad dry, but acceptable

4.0A Mario Batali’s restaurant with a very affortable menu. You can share as many appetizers as you want and still won’t burn a whole in your pocket. A deal in NYC. Like the pasta better than the pizza but everything is still really good. Will definitley go back again!
