For some reason Paloma Cafe has a lot of buzz among the “hip” Vietnamese-American crowd. Located inside Grand Century Mall, customers have to fight for parking on weekends with fellow diners or those just looking to walk around in an air-conditioned place. The restaurant itself is nicely albeit oddly decorated – everything seems to match, but one can’t quite grasp the effect trying to be attained. There are colorful couches to sit on, making it a nice place to hang out to have a beer, coffee or smoothie. This is probably why this place is made out to be such a great hangout spot. The food however is not so great. Menu selections are limited and the food is not at all what it should be for the prices. Go for the drinks and the atmosphere if you must, but leave the dining for elsewhere – there’s a decent Vietnamese food court just across from this restaurant.
