It is not Spices Thai
We went in here months ago… asked them if they were affiliated with Spice’s Thai… in Carmel Valley and Rancho Bernardo. They told us yes… and since we love Spices Thai… tried them out. It was ok… just good enough that we went back over this last weekend with Friends. The place was almost empty… then got a little busier…. just enough to insure that the single waiter could not take very good care of anybody. There was a wide screen TV on… set to a Spanish Channel… with Spanish Subtitles … so the cooks could enjoy whatever. Collectively we tried three different soups… none of them very good… and their “Chicken in Hot and Sour Soup” was terrible. Poor service… poor food… won’t go back.
Dishes I tried:
Chicken in Hot and Sour Soup
Chicken was old. Not much of it. Honestly it tasted old. Broth was unusally clear for what we think of for a “Hot and Sour Soup”. Not good. Didn’t even finish it… and were never asked how things were. They were apparently afraid of the answer.
