The food here will surprise you. Run by a red-headed hot-tempered french lesbian and her all-female staff. She runs a tight ship and over-looks any food going out of the kitchen. It’s basically casual food that’s been perfected. Lasagna, soup and cornbread, fish and chips-sounds simple but wait until you taste it. Desserts are baked fresh in-house and taste sinful. (Chocolate pumpkin cheesecake anyone?). You won’t find a place like this for miles.

I had a wonderful supper recently at a small family style restaurant in the Annapolis Valley town of Middleton. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, and seated and served right away. Reservations are necessary as the local people know value when they see it! The French bread is made with the owner’s own recipe at the local bakery across the street. We were told it is made fresh daily, and I believe it. The wine choices were limited, but you go here for ribs and beer, not fine wines. I started with a spinach salad and my friend had the soup. Both excellent. My main dish was a large deep serving of perfect, melt in your mouth Lasagne. I have to return soon, because I tasted my friends honey garlic ginger ribs and they were the tastiest ribs you could imagine. The servings were very large and we could not manage desserts, but from the ones I saw going to the next tables, they looked tempting and like everything here freshly homemade. And that is the secret here- good, fresh , local food; personalized service and few tables (full every night); and reasonable prices. High value for your money at Pasta Jax. Can’t wait to go back for those ribs!
