1.0Pastis, in Delray Beach, Florida has new owners. UGH! They are not very hospitable, very nasty and you get no wheres near the “homey” feeling when you come in that the old owners when you walked in. We were supposed to have a group of 5 for dinner but two of the couples became ill could not make it. WOW. The tongue lashing that we got. People were coming out of the restaurant stating that their pricing was misleading and that the food was no wheres as good as when the other owner was there. We were going to try the new owners fare but now ….for get it!!
We went to Saitos in Boynton Beach and never regretted it. PASTIS IS OFF OUR DINNER GROUP’s

06/17/2010No idea who the people are that said the new owner is nasty, the OLD owner was the worst and because of his rudeness I have not been back for several years until the new summer menu at Pastis caught my attention. I decided I would give it another try since the summer special menu was $11…where can you eat for that? Plus 2 for 1 wine! And my girlfriends and I have been back twice, and plan go back agan and again. Bernado is a delightful host, could not be more accommodating, the food is delicious and where can you get veal francaise, yellowtail francaise, lamb shank, sole almondine for $11 including soup or Caeser salad for that price? Wine is $8 for 2 glasses! So for $25 including a delicious dinner, 2 glasses of wine, tax and tip (I tip big) you can’t find this anywhere in Palm Beach County. I’m glad the people who gave it such a bad rap won’t be going back…no one will miss them! I have a problem with their counting…if 5 people had reservations and 2 couples (4 people) did not show up, that left 1 person for dinner. I recommend either going at 5-5:30 or definitely make reservations after that hour…it gets crowded.
