Summary: The ScenePerched on a cliff on the ground floor of a luxury lakefront condominium, Pier W is the ultimate dining room with a view: Sailboats glide, power boats race and gulls pester just beyond the edge of your fork. Two generations have come to hold hands, nibble shrimp cocktail and toss wishes into the water just the other side of the luxury-liner windows. The FoodPier W brings more to your table than a sunset. The kitchen's strategy is an exercise in simplicity: Procure the best ingredients (mostly finned or shelled) and serve them elegantly prepared and unadorned. The grilled sea scallops come with braised spinach, a swordfish steak is kissed with tequila butter, and meaty Lake Erie walleye is deep-fried in a cracker crust. Classics like bouillabaisse fill the dining room even on dark, rainy days.

Pier W, a landmark Cleveland restaurant, has been serving a critically acclaimed seafood and contemporary menu since May 11, 1965. Having recently undergone a $3 million interior renovation, the new Pier W resembles a sophisticated luxury liner cantilevered over Lake Erie offering dramatic views of both the Lake and the downtown Cleveland skyline.

HAPPY HOUR

This restaurant has a great view of Lake Erie plue they are known for having very good seafood.

Check out the happy hour (I’m not sure of the hours or the days), but the drinks are wonderful and 1/2 off…so are their appitizers! They are pretty creative with the appitizers and they too are great, especially at 1/2 off!

The martinis are always good, I had the Lemon Drop Martini ($5)

I can’t comment on the dinner or lunch menus, I was told by a friend to check out the happy hour and I’m glad I did.

I’ll be back soon.

The tacos were good, too shy on the fish. The lobster mac and cheese was very rich ($6 at happy).

One of my Favorites

This restaurant has always been one of my favorites. The view at night is very romantic and it is a great spot to go for a special occasion, such as an anniversary. A girlfriend of mine got married earlier this year, had a civil ceremony with no fuss or muss, and we all chipped in and gave them dinner at Pier W, as we thought it would be a perfect way to end the day, having a romantic dinner at Pier W. They absolutely loved it, as neither had ever been there before, and said it was very romantic and a nice way to end their wedding day.
