Had the opportunity to have lunch with my sister at the Pit Stop. The restaurant has been in business for the past 10 years or so. It’s in the same location as the former Hippety Hop Restaurant, and Taco Express operated by previous owners.
Diner style atmosphere, decorated with classic cars, wooden panelling. Handicap accessible. Great, prompt service. Seating for about 40 in booths, or tables at the window. Known for their Friday fish specials and desserts (home-made pies).
I ordered one of their featured lunchtime platters, hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes.
Sandwich of generous, hot, chipped roast beef served on white Texas-sliced white bread, with genuine mashed potatoes. I ordered the half-sandwich — which was filling enough — but a whole sandwich can also be ordered. Great food & value!
Sister ordered the chicken-wrap — a type of sandwich made in a tortilla shell, filled with tender white chicken meat, shredded lettuce & tomato. Very filling & delicous!
