4.0This is the classiest pizzeria in Detroit. They’ve really made the effort to make every area of the restaurant exceptionally detailed.
Because it’s in Greektown, this Pizza Papalis is extremely busy. I’ve had to wait over an hour to be seated.
Another thing to keep in mind is that their deep-dish and Chicago-style pizzas take quite a while to bake; they give approximate preparation times right in the menu. What this means is that a pizza that takes 30 minutes to cook may not come to the table for an additional 30 minutes or so, depending on how busy the restaurant is.
I wish the restaurant was larger, but that is just an afterthought. The pizza is wonderful in every way!
The best Chicago-style outside of Chicago. The toppings and sauce are very ample. The pizza sauce is especially tasty. They serve very large portions; expect to take a box home!
