Was that really vinegar that I drank today in 90-degree heat? It was spiked orange and sweet and left me begging for a refill. The stewed pork dish (Khao Kha Muu) was tender and flavorful, though not the most heavenly stewed pork I’ve ever tasted. But I’d definitely go back — maybe next time when I can order from the bar. Confound my business lunch conscience! Those drinks looked tempting.

Stand outside the shack. Breathe in the aromas. Don’t operate heavy equipment while in the resulting dream-state. One piece of advice: If you’re getting carryout, don’t limit yourself to the printed menu. Find out the daily special. I’ll always regret missing out on the chicken-liver skewers.
