ras dashen is the first ethiopian restaurant i’ve been to in chi-town — the food is good, the atmosphere can get loud and lively (especially if there’s live music), and whether you’re w/a group of friends or on a romantic date, this place seems to fit the mood for both. if you’ve never eaten ethiopian, keep in mind that you eat w/your hands and the food consists of a huge table-size sponge pancake where all the dishes are poured onto.

the only downside is the service, which although friendly, can be slooow.
