A place just with a good name

I’ve been down there twice, not cos it’s such a great place, just happen to have parties.

Hidden under T.G.I Friday, the place is a little hard to find. The food is soso, especially almost everything here is Japanese-big.

The only dish we were all impressed is the black cod.

If u a adventurous enough, then try ur favorite Japanese bites; if u only go for a good memory there, let black cod shine ur nit.

Dishes I tried:

Black Cod Kasuzuke

Authentic japanese broiled cod marinated in Miso & Fermented sake lees. It’s just too good to be true.

Deep fried and buttered shrimp & viggie, served seperated with dipping sauce. There is nothing wrong with it, but just no way to finish the whole dish.

Try it if u a crazy for Japanese green tea as me. It actually covers a lot original Japanese green tea flavor by putting much suger in it, but i still enjoyed this not-too-available dessert. (estimate price)

regretfully tasteless sashimi

I’m very sad to say that Rikki Rikki is no longer how I remember it used to be. I went here tonight for dinner as I haven’t been here in quite awhile. It used to be one of the best Japanese restaurants on the Eastsde so I was excited to go back and see what they had to offer. Well, I came away totally disappointed. The food was just tasteless and seemed bland.

I hope that this was just one bad experience and that RR redeems themselves next time. This restaurant used to be awesome. It is already hard enough to find decide sushi on the Eastside. If you’re looking for another option, try Ginza in Bellevue.

Dishes I tried:

Salmon (Sockeye) Sashimi

Totally tasteless. I was so disappointed, and the texture wasn’t good and too tough. I’d give it 2 stars but it was also really expensive!

Unagi seemed overcooked, and the sauce was a little heavy.

I wasn’t that impressed with this place. It’s pricey, and the food is just so-so. They had toro on the specials menu, and it was $8.50, so I assumed I’d get the whole order, ie 6 pieces. I got only 2 and had to order more food. I also had unagi and salmon, both of which were good. My friend had curry coconut chicken and prawns and liked his dish. We also shared sunomono salad, which was just okay. I might come back, but it would not be my first choice. I have to say the waitress was nice and accomodated my hunger by allowing me to order one more dish (salmon 2 pcs) after they closed the kitchen.

The food was hit or miss. My dishes (toro roll and unagi) were well done with well balanced flavor characteristic of Japanese food. One of my friends had poke’ which was also well done. Others who got sashimi combos stated food was a little bland. The environment is very relaxing. However, settling the bill with the waitress and getting quick service was a little difficult.
