I came here about a month ago and there are two things that stick out in my memory: rude service and salty dishes. I think our group was unfortunate in that we were greeted (more like snubbed) by a particular waiter. This waiter had already been rude over the phone as I was making the reservation, but I figured on my way over to the restaurant that, hey, maybe they are incredibly busy and stressed out. No – completely not the case. When we arrived at the restaurant, the place was relatively empty. As we were looking over the menu and asked the waiter how big the portions were (cuz we wanted to share an appetizer or some dishes), the waiter replied in an irritated, whiny, exasperated tone: “Portions depend on how hungry you are. If you’re hungry, the dish will be small. If you’re not hungry then, you can probably share. Are you hungry or not?” Um… okay… thanks. When we asked for recommendations of dishes, he refused to make suggestions. No smiles, no friendly gestures, unacceptable service. How do they expect to keep customers with such rudeness?
The food itself was pretty good except the fact that most of it was pretty salty. We went in a group of 6 and everyone agreed on the salty part. Except for the paella with seafood (Arroz con Mariscos) – that was REALLY delicious.
And a heads up. I would not go for the crab (leg) dishes. (And my favorite food is crab). Only because when you see the dish, the crab legs look like a LOT, but when you actually dig into it, it’s not that much. And gets messy. There’s plenty of other seafood that comes in ginormous sizes besides crab.
I wish I could say I liked my experience enough to come back, but one person can truly make a difference. And thanks to that waiter, I will never return.
