With Sal’s Pizza, if you get a pizza fresh from the oven, it’s really good. Even the slices that are sitting in the glass shelves are decent when reheated, but you really need to try one piping hot out of the oven.
My fave pizza is the BBQ Chicken pizza. I think next is the Tomato – Garlic…another really good one. Peppers and Onions is great too.
I don’t know if the same guy works at the oven, but he’s the pizza equivalent of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld…he will pretty much yell at you to spit out your order and move the line rapidly along.
He wasn’t there last time I went to Sal’s…and it had been a while since the previous visit, so I am not entirely sure he’s still there.
If you’re not ready to order when he gets to you…he will skip you.
LOL
Anyway, don’t let it scare you. This Sal’s is much better than the one in nearby Chelmsford. If you and a few friends are there, order a pie ahead of time if you can.
It’ll be worth the trip…and chance to meet the Grinch of Pizza. :)
