I was so happy when I got a chance to try out Sea Salt near Minnehaha Falls. The area is a perfect fit for this restaurant. It is relaxed, fun food with a hint of class and mystique. The park that surrounds Sea Salt makes for an awesome experience during a warm summer evening or crisp fall afternoon. Sea Salt is open daily from April through October on Sundays and Mondays from 11am to 8pm and Tuesday through Saturday 11am to 9 pm.

The inside is simple with concrete floors and one register and the usual menu on chalkboards. Outside you can find a large patio with lots of tables, but still be prepared to wait and jump at a spot when it opens. For some reason the crowd at Sea Salt is part of the ambiance and not really a hassle at all.

I was there one afternoon with my mom. It was sunny and Sea Salt was packed. We did end up waiting in line for a little while, but it wasn’t bad. Everyone standing in line was happy, laughing and enjoying conversation. When we got to the order station we decided on the catfish po’boy, which is basically fried catfish on French bread, some veg and sauce. What made this sandwich was the super fresh catfish. It was just the thing for a hot summer day. My parents also rave about the clam fries and will often visit on a summer evening for a beer and some clams. They had a selection of wines and beers, fresh seafood, sandwiches and daily specials. On average meals cost about $10 – $15.

If you are in the area make sure you stop by Sea Salt. If you aren’t in the area, make the trip!

This restaurant is situated on the edge of the Minnehaha Falls State Park in Minneapolis, MN. Menu items come straight off of the pier, such as po’ boys, calamari, fish sandwiches, tacos, etc! The quality of this food is amazing and extremely fresh! The oysters were huge! The one con about this restaurant is that you will probably stand in line for a while, but the food is definitely worth the wait!
